Undergraduate Poster Competition judges
If you’re available and willing to participate, please let us know by filling out one (or both!) of the interest forms linked below.
Reviewing posters virtually prior to the meeting
When: February
Where: Online
This year, we are implementing a virtual review component to allow students more opportunity for feedback and improvement in their posters before presenting in person at the meeting. To accomplish this, ASBMB seeks reviewers to give feedback to near-complete undergraduate posters.
- Registration for the meeting is not required, but ASBMB membership is required to serve as a virtual judge.
- Virtual reviewers must abide by the ASBMB code of conduct.
- Virtual reviewers must view a recorded orientation to understand the feedback process.
Please note that this form is a broader conference volunteer form. Virtual poster review is an option in this form. If you have any concerns about filling this out, please let us know.
Judging in person at the annual meeting
When: March 8–10
Where: Poster Hall
- Registration for the meeting is required to access the convention center and is not provided gratis. Early bird registration rates end Feb. 3!
- Judges must attend an in-person orientation session held on Sunday, March 8, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
- Judges will be assigned to posters scheduled throughout the competition and are expected to participate for the duration of the poster competition at their assigned date(s) and time(s).
- The form will allow prospective judges to select which dates of the meeting they will and will not be available to judge at. Judges may participate in multiple days.
- Judges will not be assigned to judge student posters from their own institution.
- All applicants who have not previously judged an in-person ASBMB poster competition must watch an online training video about our judging process. We also encourage all returning judges to watch this refresher training as well. The training video will be provided after registration.
- Judges must abide by the ASBMB events code of conduct.
- Judges must bring a device (laptop, tablet, etc.) to complete the electronic judging form.
We’ll follow up with additional information and assignments closer to the event.
