Hargrove recognized for leadership
Mark Hargrove . He is among more than 50 individuals from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to receive recognition for their dedication and contributions.

Hargrove is a professor and chair of biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology. His studies protein structure and function. Using state-of-the-art tools and techniques, such as site-directed mutagenesis and kinetic and spectroscopic methods, Hargrove’s lab investigates the structure, function, folding and expression of heme proteins.
Throughout his career, Hargrove has received much recognition for his teaching. He received the Iowa State University Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching and the Cassling Family Faculty Outstanding Achievement in Teaching Award.
