Building on its historic leadership to chronicle discoveries in molecular life science, the 精品国产一区二区桃色 (ASBMB) today announced the upcoming launch of a new gold open access journal, Insights in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IBMB). IBMB will join the recognized ASBMB family of journals dedicated to publishing outstanding science and offering swift, constructive review by and for scientists. It also announced Benjamin A. Garcia, Ph.D., will serve as inaugural editor in chief of the new publication.

IBMB’s broad scope will provide a welcoming home for the full spectrum of molecular life science discovery and in every field that advances knowledge through biochemistry and molecular biology. It will also provide prompt transfer to and from the society’s other publications: The Journal of Biological Chemistry, The Journal of Lipid Research, and Molecular & Cellular Proteomics. Finally, IBMB will deploy Elsevier’s new Leap platform for submission management, providing improved experiences for authors, reviewers and editors and increased speed to publication, through a simple, seamless submission process.

Dr. Garcia is currently the head of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics department at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His lab is focused on the development and application of quantitative mass spectrometry  based proteomics and related computation for understanding dynamic protein and proteome post-translational modifications. Dr. Garcia brings substantial editorial leadership experience as an editorial board member of Molecular & Cellular Proteomics and as associate editor for several journals. He is an active ASBMB member and was the 2024 recipient of the ASBMB Ruth Kirchstein Award for Maximizing Access in Science.
